About us
“Stonehouse Park Nursery sowing the seeds for a successful future”
At our well-established nursery, we pride ourselves on providing a warm and nurturing environment tailored for children aged 2-4 years old. Our dedicated team of staff is committed to helping every child build strong foundations and develop a positive attitude towards learning.
We have a diverse team of professionals with varying levels of experience in childcare. From enthusiastic apprentices just beginning their careers to seasoned experts with over 20 years of experience, our team is united by a shared passion for early childhood education.
Our nursery features a robust SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) system, supported by highly skilled staff, including an onsite speech and language therapist. This enables us to offer early interventions and personalised support, ensuring each child’s learning journey is both positive and successful
Our Approach:
At two years old, your child is beginning to assert their independence, developing their own ideas and perspectives. Research shows that children learn significantly from one another, making it crucial for them to grow confident in group settings with their peers. We recognise this developmental need, which is why our nursery features mixed-age group rooms. These rooms provide a safe and secure environment where children have the freedom to explore, investigate, and experiment.
Our staff is dedicated to supporting your child’s emerging language skills, imaginative play, coordination, and physical abilities, as well as essential life skills like toilet training and dressing. As your child turns three, they undergo significant changes, and we nurture their growth in a fun and informal setting, helping them build confidence and well-rounded skills.
Our rooms are equipped with a vast array of resources and activities, with daily access to the outdoors, all designed to enhance holistic development. By establishing clear boundaries for safety, we allow children the freedom to grow independently. The rooms are thoughtfully arranged to encourage freedom of choice, ignite imagination, and focus on all areas of development through play.
We offer a diverse range of experiences and equipment to help children develop the skills they need for later in life. While these manufactured items are essential, we also emphasise the importance of natural and everyday objects, encouraging children to experiment and explore.
To ensure a smooth transition to infant school, we facilitate regular visits to school. Our large outdoor area shares a fence with the infants' playground, allowing our children to interact with and observe older children at play, easing the transition into their next stage of education.
